Be Bold!

Welcome to Smith Creative! I’ll be posting updates, links, and information that should be of interest on regular basis. Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Jeff speaking at ARTery pARTy

Starting a nonprofit or any business can feel as if you are standing at the edge of a very deep chasm and hoping that the bridge to the other side will suddenly appear. I felt the same thing as I took the leap from leading a fantastic nonprofit to building my own businesses. At times you feel like you really have it in yourself to make it work and then at other times it feels as if you have chosen the wrong door on the Price is Right. As many of my closest advisers have reminded me, “If you do what you love and love what you do then the rest will follow.” I encourage everyone who is reading this to be bold and make the leap if you have the drive, passion, and perseverance to do so.

This LinkedIn article says a lot about what great leaders DO NOT do and it really has something for everyone. 9 Things Successful People Won’t Do

In each of these blog posts we will explore a variety of topics that address nonprofits, for profit businesses, and life in general. I welcome your feedback, questions, and ideas. I have a background in many different areas and will make sure there is something for everyone. Thanks again for joining me!

Creatively yours,

Jeff Smith

Love it, Jeff! I would love some information on working from home and how to find reputable ways to do it, still working for myself. I love to write and blog so I’m looking in that direction. And, as you know, I’m very creative. So, Smith Creative, any thoughts? Thanks.

Libby, thanks for your comment. There are many people who have found a way to generate income and be creative through a blog. As you know, Jacksonville Moms Blog is a very popular local example…

Many people find interest in what you are doing and connect to you in a meaningful way through a blog without the “hard sell” of traditional advertising. Obviously, it is important to be able to monetize what it is that you can offer. I am also very inspired by the success of Brandi Temple in forming, “The Startup That Conquered Facebook.” Here are some articles.
