Smith Creative was formed in April 2014 with the mission of “accelerating growth for social good.” Since that time Jeff Smith has served as founding principal and collaborated with select partners to provide high quality consulting services for organizations and individuals. Mr. Smith also serves as director of arts for Duval County Public Schools. Jeff Smith – Founding Principal

Mr. Smith is a consultant and music director with a passion for arts, education, and downtown development. He specializes in assisting organizations with strategic planning, fund development, brand recognition, and partnerships.

Prior to moving to Jacksonville fours years ago, Jeff taught music in South Carolina and New York. He possesses a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Education from LIU Post and a Master of Science in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University. While at Post he studied classical and jazz piano and performed with several vocal and instrumental groups as well as serving as an editor for the college newspaper. He is also certified in school administration and has a Professional Diploma in School District Leadership from The College of New Rochelle. Mr. Smith served as Associate Director for the Cathedral Arts Project for three years, leading the program staff and 50 teachers and teaching assistants. During that time he oversaw program research, faculty development, strategic partnerships, and led the expansion of after school, summer, and school day arts programs. More recently he served as Executive Director of City Year Jacksonville during its Founding Year.

Mr. Smith is a proud graduate of the Bank of America Emerging Leaders Program and serves as a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, the oldest Rotary club in Florida. He also serves the community in a volunteer capacity as a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor at Fort Caroline Middle School, chair of the All-Council Community Initiative, co-chair of the Cross Sector Collaboration Working Group for Any Given Child Jacksonville. Mr. Smith is also active in several other business and civic organizations. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel and three amazing children, playing the piano, watching independent films, and enjoying everything that Jacksonville has to offer.
